What is Google Search Console?
Google Search Console is a free Google tool that shows how your website actually performs in Google Search — not estimates, but the real data Google holds on your site. Once you verify you own the domain, four things become visible:
- Performance — the queries that surfaced your pages, with clicks, impressions and average position
- Pages / Coverage — which pages Google has indexed, and which it skipped and why
- Sitemaps — whether Google has read the list of pages you submitted
- Experience — mobile usability and Core Web Vitals flags
It is the single most useful free tool for a small business, because every figure comes straight from Google rather than a third-party estimate. If you do one SEO thing this month, verify your site in Search Console — you cannot fix what you cannot see.
