Why is my page not showing up on Google?

If a page is not showing on Google, first confirm whether Google even knows it exists: search site:yourdomain.com.au (using your real domain) and count the results. The reason is almost always one of these, in order of likelihood:

  • The page is too new — Google has not crawled it yet; submit it in Search Console and wait days to weeks
  • Nothing links to it — an orphan page with no internal or external links is hard for Google to discover
  • It is blocked — a noindex tag or a robots.txt rule is keeping it out
  • You are searching your brand, not the query — the page ranks, just not for the words you assumed

Search Console’s URL Inspection tool tells you exactly which case applies for any single page. Before assuming a ranking problem, run site:yourdomain.com.au — if the page is not listed there at all, it is an indexing problem, and ranking advice will not help until it is fixed.
