What is an end-of-life CMS?

An end-of-life content management system is one the vendor no longer supports, which means new vulnerabilities will never be fixed:

  • It does not stop working - which is exactly why it lingers on small business websites for years.
  • The risk compounds - every newly disclosed flaw stays open permanently.
  • Plugins go first - an abandoned plugin on a supported platform carries the same problem.

Check the support status of your website platform and its plugins. Anything unsupported is a scheduled replacement, not an option.
