How long can my business survive offline?

Nobody knows until they work it out, and the exercise takes about ten minutes:

• Pick your busiest trading day and walk through it without the internet, without the main laptop, and without your phone.
• Mark where you stop - taking payment, quoting, reaching customers, accessing records.
• Put a number on the first stop - what one day of that costs you in revenue and idle wages.

That number is the budget the fix has to beat, and it is usually far larger than the fix.
